What to do in Geiranger

You have a lot of options when it comes to activities in Geiranger. Some are listed below.

  • Photographing/video filming
    Of course, you need to save every moment and document it on Facebook, Flickr, or Instagram. Remember to bring a couple of extra memory cards, fully charged batteries, and a camera battery charger with you.

    • The Geiranger fjord farms like Skageflå or Knivsflå
    • The Seven Sisters waterfall or the Friar at the other side. Even a waterfall called the Bridal Veil, which you can also find in the Geirangerfjord. The seven sisters waterfalls started out as only 3-4 waterfalls, but were increased to seven for a better tourist impression.
    • Storsæterfossen, up by Geiranger, you can walk around on the backside of it. It takes 2,5 kilometers to walk from Geiranger and you will use one hour more or less.
  • Shopping
    Geiranger has several tourist souvenir shops at the harbor in the center of town. You get the typical mass-produced souvenirs here, along with postcards.
  • Dining
    Geiranger has some good places to eat. Try the local dishes if you can, with short-traveled meat from the local farms in the area.
